  • Sigma 105mm f2.8 EX DG Macro OS Lens

Sigma Sigma 105mm f2.8 EX DG Macro OS Lens

    5 in stock

High performance, large aperture medium telephoto macro lens with OS (Optical Stabilizer). SLD glass provides good control of aberration and the floating inner focus system ensures high rendering throughout the focusing range. By using Sigma’s APO Tele Converter, it is possible to take photos at greater than 1:1 magnification. HSM ensures a quiet and high speed AF as well as full-time manual focus override. This lens has a rounded 9 blades diaphragm which creates an attractive blur to the out of focus areas.Large aperture medium telephoto macro lensThis medium telephoto macro lens allows you to maintain an appropriate distance from subjects while still getting close up photos. Since the working distance at its closest focusing position is 142mm, shadows of the lens and camera will not affect photography making it suitable for taking photos of subjects, such as flowers, under natural lighting conditions. In comparison to the Sigma 50mm and 70mm macro lenses, the main subjects can be defined with perfectly smooth and blurred backgrounds.High rendering performanceThe lens power layout produces excellent optical performance. High refractive index SLD (Special Low Dispersion) glass corrects chromatic aberration, spherical aberration and field curvature. It ensures high rendering performance at all shooting distances. The Super Multi-Layer Coating reduces flare and ghosting, maintaining quality images with high contrast. Handheld photography with easeSigma’s OS (Optical Stabilizer) system offers effective correction of approximately 4 stops. As the stabilisation effect is visible through the viewfinder, it aids composition and accurate focusing.* The OS effectiveness will gradually decrease as the shooting distance becomes shorter.Floating inner focusingThis lens incorporates floating inner focusing which moves two lens groups separately. This minimizes aberrations which occur as shooting distance changes and enables stable rendering of the image from infinity to 1:1 magnification. This also corrects image distortion, especially when taking close-up pictures. Since focusing does not change its overall length, this lens is easy to hold and use.Quiet and speedy AFHSM (Hyper Sonic Motor) provides quiet and high-speed AF. It is also possible to use full-time manual focus, even if the lens is set to autofocus.Rounded 9 blades diaphragmThis lens has a rounded 9 blade diaphragm which creates an attractive blur to the out-of-focus areas. This also creates smooth, rounded focus highlights when taking photos which have a strong light source in the background such as lights shining on the surface of the water.APO Tele convertersThis lens is compatible with Sigma’s APO TELE CONVERTERS. With APO TELE CONVERTER 1.4x EX DG, it can be used as a 147mm F4 AF* telephoto macro lens, and APO TELE CONVERTER 2x EX DG as a 210mm F5.6 MF telephoto macro lens. This allows a greater working distance while still achieving 1:1 macro magnification.* AF does not work from 0.45m close-up photography.Dedicated hood adapterWhen taking photos with APS-C sized digital SLR, the (supplied) dedicated hood adapter, which extends the length of the hood can be attached. This gives more protection from harmful lights that could negatively affect image quality.* When taking photos with full-size digital SLR, please remove HA680-01 in order to avoid the edges of the image being blocked.

Introduced as the first macro lens for mirrorless cameras in the Art line of lenses for mirrorless cameras, the 105mm F2.8 DG DN MACRO Art packs the highest level of performance expected of a mid-telephoto macro lens into its body, from its superb optical performance to excellent build quality.Beyond being a high-spec macro lens that excels in a wide range of settings, the SIGMA 105mm F2.8 DG DN MACRO Art is ideal for macro shooting or portraits. It can also give photographers an opportunity to rediscover a new way of looking at or enjoying things such as unexpected beauty or something precious in everyday life through its perspective that is unique to a macro lens. It provides performance that goes far beyond the expectation or imagination of what a “classic mid-telephoto macro lens” can be.The latest optical design of the 105mm F2.8 DG DN MACRO Art ensures exceptional sharpness at all shooting distances from extreme close-up, which is crucial in macro shooting, all the way up to infinity. In addition, its aberration correction places a particular focus on longitudinal chromatic aberration which cannot be handled by the in-camera aberration correction. The superior optical design produces clear images with both delicate rendering and free of colour bleeding. Bokeh was one of the focuses in the 105mm F2.8 DG DN MACRO Art design, which figures largely in the mid-telephoto shooting. The ample volume of peripheral light helps create beautiful bokeh circles, while the natural bokeh effect in the background, as well as the foreground, gives more flexibility to photographic expressions.Furthermore, when equipped with the TC-1411 (1.4x) or TC-2011 (2.0x), SIGMA’s latest models of teleconverters designed exclusively for the use with L-Mount lenses, it allows photographers to shoot macro at even higher macro magnifications while keeping the working distance. The 105mm F2.8 DG DN MACRO Art has achieved everything that is required of a mid-telephoto macro lens at the highest levels.

Ex Demo - Box has been opened Previously funded on Kickstarter and ranked 2nd in the all-time most funded lens project, this is the world’s first consumer-grade probe lens which focuses from 2:1 macro to infinity and with a compelling wide angle ‘Bug Eye’ perspective. The wide angle design means a much greater depth of field at close distances than possible with a conventional telephoto macro lens, so more background details can now be seen. The front barrel of the lens is waterproof and an LED ring light is mounted at the tip of the lens. It can cover both standard 35mm full frame & Super35 image sensors and is super lightweight to carry.Canon EF, Nikon F, Sony FE, Pentax K, Arri PL mounts are available. “Cine-mod” version, with standard gear focus and aperture rings, is specifically designed for videography purposes. Includes variable-output Control cable and rugged aluminium carry case. The Laowa 24mm f/14 2X Probe lens is now available for sale. The package includes a white USB cable dimmer (with power adjustment), black USB cable (no power adjustment), lens bag and metal case. Please note that the LED is powered by an external battery (not included in the package). Due to its amazing demand, it may be temporarily in limited supply. We have created a Facebook community for our 24/14 Probe users to share their experience and amazing works. Macro lenses in the market tend to have a long focal length (from 60mm to 120mm) and the subject fills most of the frame, isolating it from the surrounding environment. Our Laowa 24mm, instead, allows you to focus really close – 2 cm (0.8 in.) @ 2:1  to the subject, showing a great amount of detail and texture. But at the same time, you can enjoy a  compelling wide angle ‘Bug Eye’ view (84.1°)  so that more of the background details can be included in the shot. You can easily create a very informative and stunning macro bug-eye perspective that no other lens can do! The fact that it can focus really close to the subject enables a lot of shooting possibilities. The wide angle design also means  much greater depth of field at close distances (compared to the telephoto macro lens) so that more background details can now be seen. Being able to focus so close but still have a deep depth of field is a BIG advantage for both studio and wildlife photography. DOF comparison between 24mm f/14 and traditional tele macro For example, the bug below is around 4 mm (0.15 in.) in size and it was captured by our 24mm f/14 Probe at 2:1 Macro magnification. The greater DOF  allows more leaf area to be in focus compared to telephoto lens. From indie to professional. From macro to wide angle. From still to video. From studio to wildlife. This lens is designed for everyone. This lens is designed to bring each and every photographer and videographer a new striking perspective to shoot. Are your ready to infuse your creativity into this lens and create shots that nobody has seen before?

Exceptional imaging performance made possible by the latest optical design technologiesThe lens incorporates one ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass optical element and two Anomalous Dispersion glass optical elements to compensate for various aberrations and minimize the generation of the unwanted purple fringe effect. This is coupled with the high-grade, multi-layer HD (High Definition) Coating, which reduces average reflectance in the visible ray spectrum to less than 50 percent compared to conventional models, and the innovative FREE (Fixed Rear Element Extension) focusing system. All together, these technologies effectively reduce the generation of flare and ghost images to a minimum over the entire focus range — from minimum focusing distance to infinity — and deliver clear, high-quality images. The lens also provides life-size magnification in close-range shooting to capture dramatic, fine-detailed close-up images.  Dustproof, weather-resistant AW construction for exceptional outdoor shooting reliabilityReady for diverse outdoor shooting conditions, the lens features dustproof, weather-resistant AW (All Weather) construction for the first time in a PENTAX macro lens. This dependable construction prevents the intrusion of dust and moisture into the interior, using six sealing parts to optimize airtight performance. When mounted on a dustproof, weather-resistant PENTAX digital SLR camera body, it creates a highly dependable, durable imaging system that performs superbly in demanding shooting settings —in rain or mist, or in locations prone to splashing or spraying water. Exclusive exterior design and outstanding operabilityThe lens has an attractive, stylish appearance, thanks to its metallic exterior parts meticulously machined from high-grade aluminium. Its focus ring features the PENTAX-original Quick-Shift Focus System, which allows the photographer to instantly shift the focus mode from auto to manual after the subject has been captured in focus by the camera’s autofocus system. This single-action operation assures a smooth, comfortable focus-mode switching manoeuvre during manual-focus shooting, for dramatically improved operability. Compact, lightweight design for superb manoeuvrabilityDespite the greatly improved imaging power made possible by the new optical design and outstanding dust-proof, weather-resistant performance, the lens is designed to be nearly as compact and lightweight as the smc PENTAX-D FA MACRO 100mm F2.8 WR (launched in December 2009), assuring outstanding manoeuvrability.Other Features ・A working distance of 13 centimetres (at life-size magnification) to facilitate the shooting of unapproachable subjects, such as insects・Individual serial number assigned to each lens: black models starting at 0000001, the silver model at 1000001・Circular diaphragm to produce a natural, beautiful bokeh (defocus) effect from open aperture to F5.6, while minimizing the streaking effect of point light sources.・SP (Super Protec) coating applied to the front optical element, to keep the front surface free of dust or stains
