Oil and water-repellent coating

The Nikon PROSTAFF P7’ are the perfect binoculars for the novice or enthusiast interested in birdwatching and wildlife observation. These binoculars deliver outstanding resolution, high-contrast views and brilliantly bright, sharp images even in low light and feature a locking dioptre system so that users can fine-tune focus reliably. The PROSTAFF P7 builds on the outstanding reputation of its predecessor (the PROSTAFF 7S), to deliver a quality optical design with all lenses and prisms multilayer coated for brighter images. The roof prisms have been phase-correction-coated to ensure that they produce outstanding resolution even in low light.

Locking dioptre system

The P7 features a dioptre adjuster on the right barrel that allows you to calibrate focus for the difference in vision between each eye. You can then lock this adjustment so that you can keep your preferred setup.

Made for tough environments

The PROSTAFF P7 is waterproof at up to 1M for 10 minutes and features a fog-free design to ensure that you keep a clear view even in the wettest conditions. The binoculars also feature rubber armouring to keep them protected from drops and impact giving you peace of mind when using them out in the field.

Long eye relief

All models of the PROSTAFF P7 offer long eye relief so that these binoculars are comfortable for glasses wearers. They all offer at least 15mm or more with the 8x42 version offering 20.2mm. Adjustment is made simple thanks to the multi-click turn-and-slide rubber eyecups that allow you to set the correct eye position.

Oil and water-repellent

The objective lens and eyepieces boast an oil and water-repellent coating so that you can wipe away moisture, fingerprints and smudges with ease.

Understanding: Magnification

Understanding magnification, typically denoted by a number followed by an "x" (e.g., 8x42), is essential for choosing binoculars suited to specific activities like birdwatching, hunting, or stargazing.

Higher magnification offers a closer view but may sacrifice field of view and stability, while lower magnification provides a wider field of view and is generally easier to stabilize but sacrifices detailed observation of distant objects

Understanding: Field of View

Field of view refers to the width of the area visible through the binoculars at a specific distance. A wider field of view allows you to observe more of your surroundings, making it ideal for activities like birdwatching or sports events where tracking fast-moving subjects is essential.

Understanding: Objective Lens Diameter

The objective lens diameter determines how much light the binoculars can gather, directly impacting image brightness and clarity, especially in low-light conditions. A larger objective lens diameter results in brighter and clearer images, making it ideal for activities such as stargazing or wildlife observation at dawn or dusk. However, larger objective lenses also mean heavier and bulkier binoculars, which may not be suitable for all users, especially for long periods of use or travel.
