Samyang 16mm f2 ED AS UMC CS Lens - Sony E

    • Hybrid aspherical lenses(H-ASP), Extra low dispersion(ED) for excellent edge-to-edge image quality
    • Ultra multi coating (UMC) for minimal ghosting and flare
    • Floating type design for sharpness throughout the focusing range
    • Glass aspherical lenses(AS)
    • Circular aperture with 8 blades for natural looking defocused areas

    Expressive and bright landscape shots.
Thanks to its high depth of field, the SAMYANG 16 / 2.0 lens with an 80 ° angle of view is not only ideal for expressive landscape shots but also as a universal wide-angle and reportage lens. The high light intensity of 1: 2.0 enables safe work even in unfavourable light conditions for optimal recordings with sufficient light reserves. The image angle of 80 ° is easily illuminated by many system flashes. (80 ° corresponds almost to a 24 mm in 35mm format). The smallest shooting distance of 20 cm provides reserves for dynamic close-ups with an expressive background. The focus and aperture settings are done manually.

Elaborate optical construction for excellent image quality.
The very good imaging performance is achieved through a complex optical construction with 13 multi-coated glass lenses. Two of them are sanded aspherically, two more are made of high-index ED glass (extra low dispersion). By using these types of glass, colour and aperture errors are almost perfectly corrected, so that the image quality is outstanding. The multi-coated lenses also prevent reflections, which you will notice in the overall contrast of the image. After all, the colour rendering will be much more brilliant than when using single-coated lenses.

    Very high quality workmanship.
The metal frame is very robust and impresses with its elegant appearance. In addition to the high-quality optics, the removable lens hood, which prevents stray light and lens reflections from the side, ensures optimal image results and further design options. The front mount has a filter thread with a diameter of 77 mm.

Use of an APS-C lens on a camera with a full-frame sensor.
Lenses that have been developed for cameras with APS-C sensors can in part (mainly using an adapter) be used on cameras with full-format sensors. However, due to the significantly smaller image circle of APS-C lenses, the edges are shown in black. The usable area of the image photographed with a full-frame camera corresponds to that of a camera with an APS-C sensor. So the pictures have to be cropped in post-processing. The use of APS-C lenses on full-frame cameras is possible, but not recommended.
