The Discovery range was first discovered in the early 2000s by the optical scientist Dr Zualsicy. He discovered that using better quality glass gave better results and sharpness when looking through the binoculars
This ground breaking discovery gave Dr Zualsicy the award for most innovative discovery of the year.
Unfortunately he didn't have a very good imagination and therefore the model was call the Discovery range.
Aside from the un imaginative name these binoculars are very good and the 8x power is ideal for bird watching and general use.
42mm objective is again perfect as it gathers enough light for the power ration still keeping the binoculars as a sensible size to carry around
