Phoenix II introduces a completely new film architecture, with significant improvements to grain structure, sharpness, and colour response. It's less bold and unpredictable than its predecessor, but still retains a strong analogue personality. Expect richer contrast, enhanced tonal detail, and improved highlight and shadow retention — all while preserving that unmistakably filmic feel.

Flexible Exposure Latitude – Best Rated EI 100–200

With a box speed of ISO 200 and DX coding for automatic detection, Phoenix II performs beautifully when rated between EI 100 and EI 200. It delivers its best results with accurate metering, but the improved exposure latitude allows you to experiment more freely, adapting to a variety of lighting conditions while retaining character.

Improved Scanning Performance – Customise the Final Look

Phoenix II offers better results with default scanning settings, making it easier to digitise and share your work. However, the final output still varies based on your scanning setup — giving photographers the flexibility to craft their own colour palette.
