Bright and clear
The compact roof prism optical system delivers bright and clear images. Fully multi-coated, the BAK-4 glass and PC Phase corrected prisms provide extra clarity even on dull days.

Slimline feel
This lightweight polycarbonate and alloy body is finished in textured rubber armour, giving the binoculars a durable and premium feel. The compact design leaves an overriding feel of slimline, compact binoculars that are comfortable to hold.

Look near and far
The Savanna R PC Binoculars offer a favourable 7.0º field of view (FOV) of 122m/1000m. This makes it easy to locate and track objects as they move ahead of you. Furthermore, the close focusing distance of 3.5m/11.5ft is adaptable to viewing birds and insects in the garden.

Family-friendly
All the family can get involved with the Opticron Savanna binoculars. With a closing IPD* of just 52mm, these are small enough to be suitable for ages 7 and up to look through. Providing plenty of room for fingers of all sizes the dual-hinge assembly can also be worn with gloves in cold weather.

Nitrogen waterproof
This Opticron binocular has a nitrogen waterproof construction that is resistant to internal fog and external rain.

Understanding: Magnification

Understanding magnification, typically denoted by a number followed by an "x" (e.g., 8x42), is essential for choosing binoculars suited to specific activities like birdwatching, hunting, or stargazing.

Higher magnification offers a closer view but may sacrifice field of view and stability, while lower magnification provides a wider field of view and is generally easier to stabilize but sacrifices detailed observation of distant objects

Understanding: Field of View

Field of view refers to the width of the area visible through the binoculars at a specific distance. A wider field of view allows you to observe more of your surroundings, making it ideal for activities like birdwatching or sports events where tracking fast-moving subjects is essential.

Understanding: Objective Lens Diameter

The objective lens diameter determines how much light the binoculars can gather, directly impacting image brightness and clarity, especially in low-light conditions. A larger objective lens diameter results in brighter and clearer images, making it ideal for activities such as stargazing or wildlife observation at dawn or dusk. However, larger objective lenses also mean heavier and bulkier binoculars, which may not be suitable for all users, especially for long periods of use or travel.
