Used Contax 645 film and digital kit.
This is supplied with two 120 film backs (with film insert keepers) and a matched 80 megapixel Phase One IQ180 digital back.
The digital image count is only 3,116. (Firmware 8.05.36)
The camera is in excellent condition, and has just been serviced and calibrated with the lens.
Optically the lens is clean, bright and free of haze, fungus, etc. The Phase One sensor has no scratches or marks (there is a cosmetic rub on one rear corner of the back), all operations are correct and it has a functioning touch screen.
This is a complete kit for medium format film and digital photography of a high order. The Phase One back performs best at ISO 64 to 200 (it was designed for studio and landscape). The battery life of the back is low (it always was) and only around 40-50 shots come off one charged battery, so there are 4.
This is a sophisticated and yet quite easy to use camera with autofocus and very smooth manual focus. Also, it is a true medium format digital with 6x4.5 coverage on the sensor (same as the film) which is larger than todays @ 4.4x3.3. This can translate to a particular character to the digital images where the lens focal lengths are truer to the look of the format, which, coupled with the CCD sensor (far less tolerant of image noise than todays) can create more film like images. The Contax 645 lenses are all excellent Carl Zeiss optics.
Of course, it is also an outstanding medium format 120 film camera, so there is the best of both worlds vailable.
