The new QUATTRO-150P with it's fast f/4 focal ratio has been specially designed for high quality astrophotography with short exposure times and is also a fine telescope for visual observations.Supplied complete with it's own bespoke, optically matched M48 Aplanatic Super Coma Corrector comprising four lens elements including one ED element.Supplied with the same Linear Power Focuser as the other models in the Quattro range, which utilises four precision ball bearings to support the drawtube and provide great stability and zero image shift while supporting a heavy eyepiece or camera. A Dual-Speed 10:1 ratio focuser is now included for excellent focusing precision. Also the tube length has been slightly shortened to optimise performance for prime-focus photography. Even better performance for astro-photography and visual use can be achieved when used in combination with Sky-Watcher’s Newtonian coma corrector Specification: Magnifications (with eyepieces supplied) x53.5Highest Practical Power (Potential) x610Diameter of Primary Mirror 305mmTelescope Focal Length 1500mm (f/4.9)Eyepieces Supplied 28mm LET (2"/50.8mm)9x50 FinderscopeParabolic Primary Mirror2" (50.8mm) Dual-Speed 10:1 Crayford Focuser0.5mm Ultra-Thin Secondary Mirror SupportsSupplied with Tube Rings and Losmandy type dovetail bar44% more Light-Gathering than 250mm “Compared to our own 250mm f/5 Newtonian reflector, the extra light gathered by the Explorer-300P was obvious. We got impressive views of a wide range of celestial objects. Galaxies such as M65 & M66 in Leo were wonderful, with strong hints of subtle detail along their spiral discs. The nearby galaxy NGC 3628 also stood out well. Nebulae shone against the background sky. M1, the Crab Nebula, showed varying degrees of mottling and scalloped edges – very satisfying indeed. The Orion Nebula, M42-43, was awash with nebulosity and we found we could easily get lost amongst the detail. At its centre, the Trapezium group of stars sparkled and, at the highest magnifications , we spotted several of its fainter mag. +10 stars, even though the atmosphere wasn’t as steady as we would have liked for such high-magnification views. Detail Explosion: Late into the night we selected the globular cluster M13 from the hand-controller. As it swung into the field of view it was breathtaking, with swarms of stars looking like bees around a honey pot. The view was so good that we noticed a dark feature, commonly known as the Propeller, superimposed on one side of the cluster. It was easily the best view of the cluster we’ve ever had….For crystal clear views of deep space, this is hard to beat!”

Large aperture for little money - that's always been the guiding principle for the purchase of a Dobson telescope. With the Dobson Black Diamond Skywatcher, a classic has been reinvented. Thanks to a sliding rod, the device is very easy to transport. In addition, the flexible focal point can be moved via the sliding linkage. The optics Skywatcher N 130/650:This telescope is specially designed to celebrate the International Year of Astronomy (IYA 2009) as well as the anniversary of Galileo's first telescope. It's not just a high-precision optical instrument but also a beautiful collector's piece and ideal gift. The telescope tube is adorned with the names of many famous personalities who made a significant contribution to promoting astronomy in the last 400 years, including Galileo Galilei himself. The core of the optical system is created by the same excellent parabolic primary mirror, which is also used in the larger Newton model. The telescope is an all-around device and offers a beautiful view of the moon, planets and the first deep sky objects. The patented grid tube system, is very comfortable to carry and store. The position of the focal point can be flexibly adjusted. The uncomplicated handling of the Dobson mount is an excellent way to get started with astronomy as a hobby and it also has an ultra-compact case. The complete telescope with mount comes fully assembled right out of the gift box. Most Dobson telescopes are only available from the 200mm class.
