The Welsh Camera & Optics Show 2026 Photo Competition is now closed.

Following another fantastic year for the show, we are inviting photographers to share their favourite images for a chance to win one of two incredible prizes, kindly supported by Nikon UK and Canon UK.

There is no set theme for this competition. Whether your passion lies in wildlife, landscapes, birds, motorsport, street photography, portraits, macro, travel, architecture or astrophotography, we simply want to see your best work.

The competition is open to photographers of all experience levels, from those just starting their photographic journey to seasoned enthusiasts and professionals.

The Prizes

This year's competition features two exceptional prizes:

• Nikon Z50 II Mirrorless Camera with NIKKOR Z DX 16-50mm Lens

• Canon R50V with 14-30mm Lens

The winning photographer will be awarded one of these prizes, with the remaining prize also being awarded as part of the competition.

How to Enter

Entering is simple.

• Submit your favourite photograph.

• Any photographic subject is welcome.

• Images must be your own original work.

• Entries are open to photographers of all ages and experience levels.

• Entries close on Friday 4th September 2026.

If, for any reason, the form does not work, please send your entries to info@carmarthencameras.com

Judging

All entries will be reviewed by the Carmarthen Cameras team and selected judges. Photographs will be assessed on creativity, composition, technical quality and overall impact.

We are not necessarily looking for the most exotic location, the rarest wildlife encounter or the most expensive camera equipment. Great photography can come from anywhere, and we are looking for images that demonstrate creativity, vision and a strong connection with the subject.

Celebrate Your Photography

The Welsh Camera & Optics Show has always been about bringing together a community of passionate photographers and image-makers. This competition is an opportunity to share your work, gain recognition and celebrate the creativity that makes photography such a rewarding hobby and profession.

We encourage everyone to take part, regardless of experience level or photographic genre.
