The Blackmagic PYXIS 6K is equipped with a massive full-frame sensor with a native resolution of 6048 x 4032, nearly three times larger than a Super 35 sensor. This allows for shooting with a shallow depth of field or using anamorphic lenses without cropping for a truly cinematic look. The 13 stops of dynamic range and dual native ISO up to 25,600 ensure stunning low-noise images in all lighting conditions. The Blackmagic PYXIS 6K features dual native ISO up to 25,600, optimizing for low grain or noise images while maintaining the full dynamic range of the sensor. The native ISO of 400 is perfect for on-set lighting, while the high base ISO of 3200 is ideal for dimly lit environments. Gain is set automatically as you adjust the ISO, allowing for great image capture without complex lighting setups.

Multiple Resolutions and Frame Rates

Blackmagic PYXIS 6K supports all standard resolutions and frame rates from HD up to DCI 4K and 6K, even capturing stills at 24.6 megapixels. Shoot up to 36 fps at 6048 x 4032 3:2 open gate or 60 fps at 6048 x 2520 2.4:1, and 60 fps at 4096 x 2160 4K DCI. For higher frame rates, window the sensor and shoot up to 100 fps at 2112 x 1184 Super 16, or 120 fps in 1080HD. You’ll always have the right resolution for any job with Blackmagic PYXIS 6K.

The built-in 4″ high-resolution HDR touchscreen of the Blackmagic PYXIS 6K is perfect for monitoring and reviewing shots on set. With 1500 nits of brightness, it’s easily viewable even in bright sunlight. On-screen overlays show status, record parameters, histograms, levels, frame guides, and more, allowing for quick application of 3D LUTs for monitoring desired colors and looks.
