Saramonic Shotgun Microphone Vmic

The Saramonic Vmic is a broadcast quality condenser microphone that delivers professional audio with DSLR cameras and camcorders. The Vmic with super-cardioid polar pattern, is specially made for DSLR cameras and video cameras. The metal housing of the Vmic guarantees high reliability.

Simply place the Vmic on a camera using the coldshoe or threaded connection. Connect the Vmic to the audio input of the camera with the 3.5 mm cable (supplied) and monitor the incoming audio with the stereo headphone output. The shock mount system provides isolation against vibration and mechanical noise.
The Vmic allows you to adjust the level control (-10dB, 0dB, + 20dB), high pass filter (150 Hz) and high frequency boost (+ 6dB) to improve dialog intelligibility. To use the Vmic, insert two AA batteries. By means of an adapter, the microphone is also suitable for smartphones (note: adapter and batteries are not included).

The Saramonic Vmic is indispensable for general sound recording in your studio and on location. With the supplied windshield, the Vmic can also be used outdoors. Optionally, you can adjust the level to -10 dB or +20 dB with a switch. There is also a low-cut filter to filter out sounds with a frequency lower than 150 Hz. The high frequency boost improves the audibility of the voice. To assess the sound quality live, you can connect headphones directly to the Vmic.

The Saramonic Vmic vs. the Saramonic Vmic Pro
The Pro version of the Vmic can handle bass better; sound is recorded from 20 Hz compared to 35 Hz of the non-pro version. Sensitivity has also been improved, from -40dB compared to -30dB +/- 1dB / 0dB = 1V / Pa, 1kHz.
