The Z 9 is designed for those pushing the boundaries of photography and video. It is well suited to wildlife, sport and photojournalist professionals demanding exceptional EVF, AF and operability alongside robustness credentials that exceed even the D6. The Z 9 is also relevant to fashion and commercial professionals, who need to bring out their full creativity in high-resolution stills and video, and video creators wanting to achieve quality output in efficient and agile production environments.

Best in Class Af and Tracking Performance

The 493-point AF system includes 405 auto-area AF points – five times more than the Z 7 II – while 10 AF area modes let users optimise their AF setup for any job. Deep-learning AI, meanwhile, powers the most advanced, simultaneous detection of up to nine different subject types. This combines with 3D tracking – a first for Nikon’s mirrorless camera range – to help capture every key moment. From people and their features to animals and vehicles; the Z 9 understands what is being photographed and reacts instantly to changes in subject position, orientation, or velocity.

Game-Changing Video Capabilities.

The Z 9 mirrorless camera boasts incredible imaging power, allowing users to record stunning full-frame 8K 24p to 60p and 4K 24p to 120p video, as well as time-lapse movies, all in-camera. With a recording time of approximately 125 minutes at a time, the Z 9 offers the longest duration for 8K video footage at 30p among mirrorless cameras. Additionally, it is compatible with the ProRes 422 HQ recording format, which is widely used in video production. An upcoming firmware update will enable the recording of RAW 8K video in ultra-smooth 60p. The Z 9 also offers full AF/AE and Eye-Detection AF support for filming, while Nikon's new N-RAW format ensures manageable file sizes.

Powerful Speed.

The camera can take over 1,000 frames in full-resolution RAW format at 20fps in one burst. In the new C+ mode, it's possible to shoot up to 120fps at approximately 11 MP in JPEG normal image quality with full AF/AE capability. The camera's world's fastest scan rate virtually eliminates rolling-shutter distortion, so much so that the mechanical shutter has been removed. Shutter speeds as fast as 1/32000 combined with the camera's ability to shoot at ISO 64 provide an incredible depth of field, even in extremely bright conditions.

Constant Visibility, in Real-Time.

The Z 9 camera boasts the brightest electronic viewfinder display with a capacity of 3000-nit, and uses dual-stream technology to ensure photographers never miss a moment. The viewfinder provides an always-live, black-out-free shooting experience, allowing users to capture the perfect shot. The display offers a genuinely continuous real-time view, enabling users to detect even the slightest movement or change in the scene being photographed.

Ergonomics and Robustness.

Nikon has achieved a new milestone with the launch of the Z 9 camera, which comes equipped with a 4-axis tilting monitor that can be adjusted both vertically and horizontally. This feature allows photographers to quickly and flexibly frame their shots according to the situation. The camera's design has been refined and improved based on feedback from professional photographers, making it a professional-grade tool. It is also incredibly durable and can withstand even the harshest conditions. A new AF mode button has been added, which enables users to switch between AF modes and AF area modes while shooting through the viewfinder. Furthermore, the top and rear LCD control panels and key buttons can be illuminated with the flick of a switch, making it easier to adjust settings in low-light conditions.
