Product Description

Nikon ZR Cinema Camera with 24-70mm f4 Lens Kit

Built for filmmakers and creators on the move, the Nikon ZR is a compact, cinema-first system that fuses Nikon engineering with RED colour science. A 24.5MP partially stacked full-frame sensor delivers 6K/60p RAW and 4K/120p, while in-camera 12-bit RAW (R3D NE / N-RAW / ProRes RAW), 32-bit float audio, and a 4" DCI-P3 vari-angle monitor streamline professional workflows. Dual card slots (CFexpress Type B + microSD), advanced AF, and robust stabilisation complete a lightweight rig. This kit includes the NIKKOR Z 24–70mm f/4 S—a versatile, travel-friendly zoom.

RED Colour Science & In-Camera RAW

Integrate the ZR into RED pipelines with RED Log3G10 and RedWideGamutRGB for consistent tone and colour. Record 12-bit RAW internally (R3D NE / N-RAW / ProRes RAW) for maximum latitude, or switch to ProRes/H.265/H.264 for speed. Load up to 10 LUTs for monitoring without baking the look.

Sensor, Processor & Dynamic Range

The 24.5MP full-frame, partially stacked sensor plus EXPEED 7 enables high-frame-rate RAW (6K/60p, 4K/120p), faster readout, and cleaner motion. Dual Base ISO 800 & 6400 maintains 14+ stops of usable latitude for bright highlights and clean shadows.

32-bit Float Audio

Capture dialogue, music, and ambience with 32-bit float headroom—recover levels in post without clipping. The digital shoe mic adds three pickup patterns with PURE and FOCUS modes, cable-free.

Monitoring & On-Camera Control

Operate confidently via the 4" vari-angle DCI-P3 touchscreen (3070k dots, 1000 nits). Quick menus keep core video controls close; vertical recording support and shutter-angle adjustments align the ZR with cinema standards.

Autofocus & Stabilisation

Nine subject-recognition modes track people, animals, and vehicles. Focus-breathing compensation keeps framing steady during racks. 5-axis IBIS (up to 7.5 stops) stabilises handheld and complements gimbal work.

Production Integration & Media

Frame.io C2C accelerates review and edit. USB-C handles power and data. Dual media lets you record RAW to CFexpress Type B while saving proxies/backups to microSD. The Z mount welcomes native and adapted cine glass.

FAQs

Is the Nikon ZR comparable to other Nikon models?
It shares sensor lineage with Z6 III, but ZR is cinema-first: in-camera R3D NE, 32-bit float audio, 4" DCI-P3 monitor, and shutter-angle controls optimise it for production.

Do I need an external monitor?
Usually not. The built-in 4" / 1000-nit / DCI-P3 screen is bright, colour-accurate, and large. It remains compatible with field monitors if your rig requires.

What audio options are supported?
In-body 32-bit float captures unclipped sound with recoverable headroom. Add the digital shoe mic or XLR adapters via accessories as needed.

How long can it record continuously?
Up to ~95 minutes on battery, ~125 minutes via USB-C power, with efficient thermal design for long takes.

Lens compatibility?
Yes—Z mount supports Nikon Z lenses and adapted third-party cine lenses for maximum creative flexibility.
